How to read this page

The homepage Today’s Market Read is a compact executive summary. It blends several live indicators into five simplified categories: Risk Mode, Macro Backdrop, Sentiment, Leadership, and Credit Conditions. This page shows the underlying live cards in detail, including Trend Health, Short Term Gauge, Stock Market Sentiment, Crypto Sentiment, AAII, CFTC positioning, and regional market-pulse data. Because the homepage uses weighted summary logic while this page shows the raw component readings, the numbers may differ. Use the homepage card for the quick read and this page to understand what is driving it.

Leveraged Funds Positioning

i What does this card show? CFTC is the data source, not a market participant. This card uses the CFTC weekly Traders in Financial Futures (TFF) report to show how Leveraged Funds are positioned in S&P 500 futures. Leveraged Funds Hedge funds, CTAs/CPOs, and other leveraged traders. The headline Short/Long percentage on this card refers to this group. Asset Managers Pension funds, insurers, mutual funds, and other institutional investment managers. The separate box at the bottom of the card refers to this group. These groups have different mandates, hedging needs, and time horizons, so they can be positioned in opposite directions at the same time. Percentages use directional Long + Short positions; spreading positions are excluded. The 52W comparison shows whether Leveraged Funds are positioned more long or more short than their 52-week average. Descriptive positioning context only — not a standalone forecast or trading signal.
